You have to get out and be seen on television to get those deals, and if you're not, then someone else certainly is! They're doing what they think is best for them, and I just don't agree." When discussing the huge growth in the World Series of Poker (WSOP), Mike had to say, "I do think it's too big. I think the Main Event needs to go up to at least $25,000, which should at least thin to field back down to...5,000 players? That gets you to a manageable level in terms of staff and time, but the way it's growing, I can't see them being able to operate next year. You can't expect poker players who want to play in the big event at the World Series of Poker to take two weeks off to play. They've got families, they've got jobs - it's just not going to happen. Yes it's the World Championship and all that, but you have to think of people who can't be gone that long." Additionally, Mike discusses the pending legislation on online gambling/poker and the effect it may have on poker in general.
